Alexy Ignashov, born January 18, 1976 is a world famous K-1 fighter that is very popular with the fans in Japan and elsewhere. He fights out of New Zealand. In the K-1 World Grand Prix bout of 2003 held in Paris, he defeated three challengers and won the K-1 World Grand Prix title. His fans simply went crazy.

Ignashov won the fight when, only seconds into the third round, Abidi staggered and his cornerman threw in the towel because Abidi has injured his left shoulder.
Alexy Ignashov is famous for knee strikes. He is one of the most talented heavyweight kickboxing fighers anywhere and is considered to be among the most technically sound fighters as well. Of course, talent has played a large role in his success. Even though he is a great fighter, some of the really big titles have not been won by him in his career.
Alexy Ignashov has been accused of being an alcoholic and his training has come into question. However, he continues in his career, ignoring these rumors. He trained in Muay Thai martial arts with the Chinuk gym in Belarus. He has also trained in New Zealand and Japan.
