The tremendous need of people to maintain a youthful skin has opened the gates for different anti-aging skin care methods. Many of us try out any method just to fill the bill, without thinking of the complications that could arise during the treatment. The question here is, are you using the safest anti-aging skin care method?
These whining and discontentment has led some people to come up with different anti-aging skin care methods. One of these methods is anti-wrinkle injection. Anti-wrinkle injection is believed to be one of the easiest and most convenient way of getting rid of those unwanted lines on the face. As one of the latest anti-aging skin care procedures, wrinkle injection promises to take away the effects that the years brought upon your face. But does it ensure safety, too?
Most injectable anti-aging skin care products consist of protein toxin which is developed by using botulinum bacteria. The said bacteria was only used for medical purposes before in the fields of neurology and ophthalmology. It was used to stop involuntary twitching and facial movements in people with nerve disorders.
But not all bacteria give tremendous benefit to humans. The following are the risks, potential complications, and consequences of anti-wrinkle injections.
1. The bacteria present in cosmetic injections is also the one that causes food poisoning. No report about after-injection poisoning has come out, but the presence of the bacteria itself mixed with the skin serum is already a danger.
2. Bleeding seldom happens in this procedure, but if the patient has taken any aspirin or anti-inflammatory medications for ten days before surgery, she or he may experience bleeding during or after the surgery.
3. The patient may experience skin discoloration in the areas where the serum was being injected.
4. There is no guaranteed positive result after the procedure has taken place. It may even result to undesirable visible deformities, loss of function and/or loss of sensation. These results can be very disappointing.
5. In rare cases, local allergies to topical preparations have been reported. Systemic reactions, which are more serious, may result from drugs used during surgery and prescription medicines. Allergic reactions may require additional treatment.
6. Ptosis or drooping of the eyelids is a rare but transient complication occurring in 1-2% of patients.
Eliminating those wrinkles with botulinum toxin may be easy and convenient, but certain risks are in stored for someone who tries it. It is best to consult your doctor about the safer alternatives for anti-aging skin care treatments.
Anti-wrinkle cream is the anti-aging skin care treatment that takes away the signs of aging without putting your life in danger. Many quality wrinkle remover creams are out on the market that are able to give you the youthful and healthy skin you have always wanted.
