For many years scientists and researchers all over the world have been working to discover or perhaps create a workable solution to hair loss. And there have been some advances and developments of drug like hair loss treatments. However many people who suffer with hair loss are looking for a more natural side effect free way of dealing with their hair loss problem and are drawn to a natural vitamins for hair loss treatment.
While there are obviously many different causes of hair loss, a deficiency of certain nutrients and vitamins that have an influence on preventing hair loss, and a role in maintaining healthy normal hair, has been found to be one of the main causes of hair loss today.
The most important group of vitamins for hair loss, are the B vitamins, most notably B6, Biotin, Inositol, Folic Acid, B5 and B3. All of these vitamins are essential for normal hair growth and can be used in medicinal doses to help prevent hair loss where hair loss has already started and to help in the regrowth of hair that has already been lost.
In as much as all B vitamins are important Folic Acid and Pyridoxine (B6) should be a priority a studies have shown that Pyridoxine has been clinically proven to cause a stimulation of hair growth (if the dose is sufficiently high) while a long term shortfall in Folic Acid levels has been implicated in cases of total baldness.
However the "shovel approach" where mega doses of vitamins for hair loss are taken indiscriminately, with a more is better type of thinking can often cause more harm than good with overdoses of certain vitamins being known to actually cause hair loss.
One such nutrient is Vitamin A which has been clinically proven to cause hair loss when taken for long periods with a high dosage.
A carefully prescribed course of specific hair loss vitamin supplementation is what is needed. A basic B Complex vitamin supplement should provide the necessary levels of the essential B vitamins. As B vitamins are water soluble, supplements need to be taken daily.
Here are the basic daily doses for the B group vitamins for hair loss. Biotin 25mcg. Inositol 500-1000mg. Niacin (Vitamin B3) 100-300mg. Folic Acid 1mg. Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5) 50mg. Pyridoxine (VitaminB6) 50mg.
While it is difficult to get the appropriate levels of these natural hair loss vitamins from food alone there are some foods that you may like to include in your diet that are generally good sources of these essential nutrients.
Lentils, green peas, walnuts, sunflower seeds, carrots, soybeans, oats, brown rice, bulgur, cauliflower, brewer's yeast, bran, peas, nuts, eggs and beans are all great sources of the essential vitamins for hair loss that you need.
Now while this covers what are largely considered the main natural hair loss vitamins you will need there are other essential nutrients that are necessary for the normal operating of a host of body functions that may compromise your hair loss treatment if you don't take care of them.
Two other essential nutrients are Vitamin C and Vitamin E. Vitamin E carries oxygen throughout the body and plays a major role in circulation of blood throughout the body. This includes the scalp of course, where adequate supply of blood is needed to help keep our hair thick and healthy.
The role of vitamin c that concerns us most in relation to hair loss is, like vitamin E, circulatory. Vitamin C ensures there is adequate blood supply to the scalp through it's capillary strengthening action. The stronger the blood vessels are leading to and through the scalp the better the blood supply and the better the health of the hair.
When starting on a program of using vitamins for hair loss start with a small dose and work up until you are taking a sufficiently strong does to have the therapeutic effect you are looking for. Keep in mind however that too much often creates just as many problems as to little when it comes to using nutritional supplements
Sometimes it all gets too complicated and you need the help of a trained outsider. You might consider visiting a naturopath or a nutritionist or dietician. These people can provide you with a very detailed hair loss treatment plan which will include the specific nutrients you will need and the quantities you will need them in to help treat your hair loss successfully.
