Stretch mark laser surgeries are costly and time consuming. If you want to a cheaper, easier way, try stretch mark cover up. Using stretch mark cover up can be key to an instant remedy for your stretch marks. These marks make a lot of people feel self-conscious which is why more and more remedies for this problem are being offered everyday.

What Do Stretch Marks Look Like?

Stretch marks are lines that appear on your skin and they can be seen in different colors. Some start off as red or purple lines and as time goes by, they usually turn white or silver. If you don't mind waiting for a really long time, these lines will consequently fade and almost disappear. Stretch marks occur when the skin is rapidly expanding due to rapid growth or stretching.

How does stretch mark happen? When the skin gets overstretched, the collagen production is disrupted and the skin tissues weaken. The breaking of the skin tissues will result to scars that are more commonly known as stretch marks.

Who Gets Stretch Marks?

Although stretch marks are a fairly common occurrence on a woman's as well as on a man's skin, these scars can have a negative impact on a person's self-esteem which is why finding a right stretch mark cover up is so important. Many people believe that older or pregnant women are the usual victims but even young children can get stretch marks.

Adolescence - Teens that go through puberty develop stretch marks because they grow up quickly at this time. Other people like body builders and people who use steroids are also prone to stretch marks. Gaining or losing a lot of weight can likewise cause the formation of these scars.

How Can Stretch Marks Be Covered Up?

It seems that just about anyone can get these scars and there is no escaping them. The good news is there are now many ways to treat this problem. Some examples of effective solutions to stretch marks are surgery and topical creams or ointments. However, these treatments will cost you thousands of dollars and there is no guarantee as to how many doctor's visits or bottles of cream you will have to go through before you are satisfied with the results. The most practical and quickest way to a blemish free skin is by using a stretch mark cover up.

Tanning Lotions - Some people suggest the use of tanning lotions and sprays as quick remedies but experts say otherwise. Tanning beds or natural tanning is not recommended because they can make the stretch mark lines even darker or the stretch mark will not tan at all. In addition to this, tanning can cause skin cancer.

If you cannot avoid the sun, then it is best for you to wear sunscreen with a high SPF so that your scars do not become worse. The better alternative to tanning is a stretch mark cover up powder or cream. There are waterproof products available that specialize in concealing skin imperfections. They also come in different colors in order to suit all skin types. The moisturizing ingredient in these products can also help your stretch marks fade while covering them up.
