Instead of the author reading their own book, more and more publishers are using professional speakers to voice audiobooks and this is one of the reasons for the increase in sales. The improvements in technology that allow audiobooks to be downloaded together with famous people that are voicing some audiobooks means that the sales of audiobooks looks certain to grow.

Faster download speeds due to improvements in broadband technology has helped increase the sales of audiobooks and there are now many sites with audiobooks for sale.

The same children who listened to audiobooks on car journeys many years ago are now downloading audiobooks for use in further education. It means they can process a greater number of books on a particular topic and also helps with their understanding of that topic.
