The Bichon Shih Tzu is a delightful, adorable mixed breed that wants to be your loyal companion twenty-four hours a day. The two breeds that make up this cross breed are the Bichon Frise, an intelligent French lap dog with a happy disposition, and the Shih Tzu, a friendly, eager-to-please Chinese lap dog. The lap dog that results from mixing the two breeds is friendly, appealing, and popular.

Some toy dogs are nervous and high strung, but the Bichon Shih Tzu has a fun, carefree personality. The Bichon Shih Tzu wants to spend its every waking moment with its owner. This is not a breed that should be left at home all day while you're at work. Take your Bichon Shih Tzu with you whenever possible. The dog will charm everyone it meets, and both you and the dog will enjoy spending time together.

The breed is a cross between the Bichon Frise, a French-bred lap dog, and the Shih Tzu, a Chinese-bred lap dog. Looking at Bichon Shih Tzu pictures reveals that the breed gets it flat face from the Shih Tzu and its fluffy coat from the Bichon Frise.

Bring out the supermodel in your dog by taking lots of Bichon Shih Tzu pictures. This breed is so active that it is hard to capture a clear image of the dog at play. Use a digital camera to keep costs down-it costs the same to develop a picture of a hairy blur as it does to develop a portrait of an adorable dog.

These dogs are far too active to sit for a photograph, so have your camera ready during a vigorous play session with your Bichon Shih Tzu. When your dog starts to tire, pick up the camera and start taking photos, shooting no higher than your dog's eye level. Take a variety of shots, capturing your dog playing, resting, and looking directly into the camera.

Some of the most appealing photos are taken when the dog looks directly into the camera. Holding one of your dog's favorite toys or treats behind the camera will encourage your dog to look into the camera lens.

A veterinarian should examine your new Bichon Shih Tzu as soon as you can schedule an appointment. At the vet clinic, your dog can get any necessary treatments, like de-worming and vaccinations, and you can schedule an appointment to spay or neuter your dog.

Crossing the Bichon Frise and Shih Tzu breeds has eliminated some of the problems typical of each breed. By extending the Shih Tzu's nose, the dog breathes easier, and with the Bichon Frise's tear ducts, there are fewer issues with watery eyes. The Bichon Shih Tzu mix has fewer skin problems than a purebred Bichon Frise.
