People and dogs eat the same basic foods the difference is the nutritional needs of a dog differ a little from a human's. But in the end we eat the same core foods so along with a vet approved diet from your pet store you should also add things like properly cooked meats, raw vegetables, and raw fruit in to your dog's diet. A balance of these foods makes for a healthy pet.
Some of the most important beagle health tips are also some of the simplest tips as well. It may not seem like much but you need to bathe your beagle at least once a month or more often if your beagle is an outdoor dog or spends a lot of time in dirty situations.
And to maintain proper beagle health you should bathe your pet more than once a month if they play outdoors or come into contact with especially dirty situations that may not be the cleanest. Beagles have thick coats and those thick coats can pick up a lot so bathe your dog regularly to cut down on harmful dirt in their coat.
Your beagle also needs regular grooming as well and some of this you can do on your own and some of it you may want to leave to the professionals. Brush your beagle's thick coat regularly and make sure there are no tangles or debris caught in it. Your beagle's nails also need regular clipping and while you are invited to try this yourself this is something you may want to send out for.
Beagle health concerns are much more than just providing a balanced diet and bathing. Your beagle's ears are famous for not only their look, but also their ability to block the proper airflow in and out of the dog's ear. Check under you beagle's floppy ears regularly and if you see any build up then contact your vet right away.
Your beagle's teeth need cleaning too. You need to get them used to teeth cleaning at a very young age by rubbing your finger gently over the beagle's teeth every once in while.
They may then let you move up to a doggy toothbrush. Your beagle looks to your for their health care so don't let them down, take care of your beagle.
