New Website Needs Visitors

New Website Needs Visitors
Every website owner quickly comes to the realization that without traffic from visitors, the most perfect business plan and the most polished website means nothing. And it doesn't take long to learn that having great content is not enough by itself to ensure success quickly, at least.
SEO and Visitors
Search engines, especially Google are the main places that visitors come to find information on the web. With luck, your site provides just the information that the web searchers are looking for. Your site needs to be listed high in the search engines for words (keywords) or phrases that people are searching for - as high as the first page of the results since most people stop at the end of that first page when searching.
What is SEO?
Getting your site placed highly in search engines is done through SEO or search engine optimization. SEO is the act of modifying your site or working with other sites to get your pages to rank highly on search engines, especially Google, for the keyword phrases that you think are important - and that will send relevant visitors to your site.
What are the Two Main Types of SEO?
SEO can broadly be divided into two types: On page and off page SEO.
On Site Search Engine Optimization
When you make changes or write your pages with the search engines in mind, focusing on particular keyword phrases that the search engines will find and index your page for, you are doing on site or on page SEO.
The Other Kind of SEO - Off Site SEO
One word defines off site SEO - links. The search engines, especially Google, place great stock in having keyword rich links that come into your site. The anchor text for such links is the most important part of the link's structure. The most important part of the linking strategy itself is obtaining links from quality sites, especially sites that are linked by theme to your site.
Which Type of SEO is Most Important?
Unfortunately, there is no clear answer to this question. Although you can get a lot of visitors to your site with a comprehensive linking strategy, it is important that you have quality content that is related to what the visitor is seeking or else the bounce rate (the visitor clicks away from your page without visiting any other page on your site) will be high and getting the visitor to come to your site to begin with won't mean anything.
SEO of both types must be done to get the most out of your websites profit potential.
A balanced approach to SEO will pay off the best.
