It's easy to get all emotional and forget hard core facts when making any purchase, that's nothing I would recommend you to do when buying your PDA. What you should do is go look for reviews, written by someone that doesn't endorse every single model for his/her own profit.

It's easy to get all emotional and forget hard core facts when making any purchase, that's nothing I would recommend you to do when buying your PDA. What you should do is go look for reviews, written by someone that doesn't endorse every single model for his/her own profit.
Don't forget the purpose of which you were going to buy that handheld device in the first place. If you do, chances are you might end up with a model to small or paying for more features than you'll
You might even want to take a closer look at some older bestseller. Old in this game means 1 year or something like that so it's not a 10 year old product I'm talking about. You can get away a lot cheaper while the device still fulfill your needs.
A new upcomer, the smarthphone, is gradually increasing its market share. This device integrates the functionality of a cell phone with the PDA. So once again the engineers have packed in more features per square centimeter.
Usability is an important perspective to look at in every device. As the size of the gadgets decreases, so does the usability. One engineering challenge is getting a high level usability maintained while making the devices smaller and smaller.
So what I want to talk about here is the importance of size. The size of the device have such an impact on usability and is therefore one of the most important device/purpose matching aspect you will make when purchasing your PDA, whether it is an HP iPAQ or Palm will often not make as much of a difference.
The screen of the device is often quite unpleasant to use on a small device, when utilizing the PDA e.g to take notes. So if you are a person looking to purchase a handheld PC with taking notes in mind, think again before you run off to get the smallest and hottest smartphone on the market, a standalone PDA might just be what you need. HP iPAQ 211 is a very good standalone PDA, follow the link below to read a review.
