In order to shop safely for Las Vegas style poker chips, you really need to know what you're looking for ahead of time because the term can apply to any number of different poker chips.
Some websites will use this title Las Vegas Style poker chips for the real thing, chips that do indeed come from Las Vegas casinos. Needless to say they come at a steep price. A set of chips costing $8 for one chip will add up to quite a bit.
On the other hand there are other sites that sell replicas of these chips and still call them Las Vegas Style poker chips. These are chips made out of clay, embossed in the center and weigh between 9-12 grams. They do indeed have the look and feel of Las Vegas casino chips. Most buyers are looking for these chips. Of course these are still quite expensive but cheaper than $8 a piece. On average they will run you about $400 for 1000 chips.
You can also visit websites that will sell chips that have Las Vegas or "welcome to Las Vegas on them. They term these as Las Vegas Style poker chips. They can be made from cheap plastic or expensive clay and anything in between. For this reason you will need to do some research before purchasing chips from these websites.
Sadly the term, Las Vegas Style poker chip is now common place, so that these types of chips are not worth much now. This means that you should be careful to do your due diligence when you go looking for Las Vegas Style poker chips.
