Most gamers probably never think about how much power video consoles eat up, but on average, some systems use more than any other items in the living room. Troubleshooting the Xbox 360
The Xbox 360, one of the newest game consoles available, has already had numerous complaints. It is frequently hounded with problems, from hardware failures to overheating. A lot of these problems, however, can be pinpointed to the power supply. Simply put the Xbox 360 power supply alll the time, especially if hidden beneath shelves. The large current from the AC adapter, needs to breathe; it needs to have fresh air in order to cool down.
Many companies have sought to introduce an Xbox 360 power supply less prone to overheating. Similar to PCs with built-in fans, these supplies have proven even less reliable than the official Microsoft versions.

While there is always a risk in modifying the Xbox 360, including the loss of the warranty, desperate times call for desperate measures, and many players refuse to suffer through interrupted game play anymore due to the poor Xbox 360 power supply.
