Well you are an old hand at poker now and you feel that you are a pro. You know the ropes and you feel confident about the ins and outs of the game. You can even tell the pros from the rookies and how people are betting. However poker online is becoming commonplace and impersonal, so now you need to bring some life into your game and start hosting some live games from your home.

When you first start you will need to get a few things. The first thing to think about is a poker chips set. You will need to look into this selection carefully as there are good and bad things about every type of chip. You have a choice of styles and materials; there are composite, clay and plastic poker chips. You will need to understand the good and bad points of each.
Once you've decided on the kind of poker chip you want, go out and get your set! A good poker chip set will consist of anywhere from 500 to 1500 poker chips, two decks of cards, a carrying case, and a dealer button. This should be all you need as far as basic equipment is concerned.
After you have got your poker chips set you should consider the type of poker table you want. After all you do not want to damage your chips by allowing them to get banged up on the hard surface of an average household table. Plus they can be moved better on a proper poker table. Of course your poker friends may enjoy playing on the table so much that they will increase their bets and allow you to get a nice return on your investment. There is no doubt about it a poker table looks cool.
Finally you need people. Chances are you already have a group of poker buddies so spread the word that you're starting a weekly game and see if you can pull in 5 to 9 people. If you and your cronies come up short, you can always do a google search for poker clubs in your area. Chance are there's a group of like-minded poker buffs looking for someone with a poker table and a nice poker set to host some games. One post and maybe a couple of emails and you're set!
Poker is a skillful game but you can also use it to make a lot of friends. When you use a local board to post your game you will have a nice response of people who would love to join your weekly poker games.
