Vacationing in Murcia, Spain may be just the type of vacation you have been looking for. With fun activities such as sightseeing, visiting museums, gambling at the casino, and walking through old churches and cathedrals, you will not have a moment to be bored during your vacation. Spain is a beautiful country that is filled with history and charm. Called the 'University City' because of the number of students who attend its university, Murcia can offer you a vacation filled with learning and leisure.

While visiting Murcia, you should visit some of their museums. If you are interested in art, the Almudi Art Palace houses some of the best known art from the region. The building used to hold corn given to the churches for the tithe, but in the 1980's it was renovated to house city archives and artwork.

After visiting the art museum, you can visit the Museo de la Cuidad. This museum tells the story of the region through artwork, documents, artifacts, and other items. It sits on an old orchard that was used during the Moorish period. You will be able to learn more about cultures that inhabited the region many centuries ago while tracing artifacts to present day. This is a must for any first time travelers to Murcia.

After visiting the museums, you may want to visit some of the local churches in the region. There are many ornate, large churches and many smaller churches. Famous cathedrals include the Cathedral of Murcia. You can enter the cathedral from one of two entrances, the Puerta de Perdon, which is the front entrance, or the Portada de las Cadenas, which is located on the side. You can climb to the top of the tower to see breathtaking views of the city and the landscape.

In between sightseeing, you may want to have a little fun gambling, dancing, or spending time with other tourists and locals. Visit the Gran Casino Murcia and play the slot machines and other games the casino has to offer. You can also meet up with those in your tour group, or make new friends.

If you are in the mood to relax, visit the Spa La Manga Club for a massage, facial, and other spa treatments. You can spend some time in the pool and recharge for another day of sightseeing. Many tourists try to break up their vacation by spending time seeing the sights and relaxing when they can.
