Heading tag Bold text and headlines on your web page should always be enclosed between H1 and H2 tags. This enables the search engines to decipher your content properly and give weightage to proper keywords. This will help in indexing too.

Site map An up-to-date sitemap is a must for every website. This ensures that your website is properly spidered by the search engines and all the pages that you want to be indexed are crawled.

Keywords Use keywords in the articles and make them bold. But don't overdo this; it is really a big put-off! Find out which keywords your website visitors are like to be searching for and use in your text, anchor text, body copy and image alt tags.

External links Skyrocket to the top of the search engine results page by securing high quality back links from other websites that are RELATED to your topic. Instead of getting the linking back to your home page, try to get them to your article or content pages with a proper keyword as the anchor text.
