Where your focus needs to lie to increase your rankings
I can almost guarantee I will not steer away from the first few websites when I am looking for information on the internet. I search, I scan the first one, two, three sites and decide which one I will try to find my answer for first. This is exactly where you need to have your websites ranked.
The good thing is there are definitely a couple of things you can do right now to help out. It really is not difficult and can start making a difference right away.
Search engine spiders are on the web looking for new stuff. If you can keep new content on your website or blog all the time, the search engine spiders will keep coming back to your site (along with the internet surfers).
You need one way links, and not reciprocal links. The days of just swapping a few links are over. You need to get people to link directly to your website or blog. And speaking of blogs, what better way to link to your site than by commenting on other peoples blogs. Just make sure the content is relevant to what you are offering.
There are also keywords. Ensure you are using good keywords and keyword phrases. Here's a hint: The longer the phrase is you are optimizing for, the more targeted the traffic will be.
If you start with the above tips and learn more about getting improved search engine ranking, you will soon begin to see profits come in.
