What is AdSense? Can I earn a large amount of money with it? These are common questions people ask when they encounter the word AdSense. And here's the answer to those questions. AdSense is an advertising program created by Google. How does it work? Let's say that you have a website about Maltese dogs. When you enroll for an AdSense account, they place ads on your website that are relevant to the content on your website. Ads can be about training Maltese dogs, products for pet dogs, and so on. And when a visitor to your site clicks on these ads, you earn money. That's basically how AdSense works. Neat, huh?

AdSense is both appealing and easy, and it essentially means that your website will start making money on its own - you don't have to do anything. Just let the ads run and you get to cash the checks. But for many people, sometimes these checks are hardly anything to write home about. Perhaps they earn a couple of hundred every few months but that's it. And yet there are a number of other people who are earning anywhere from $20,000 to $50,000 every month with AdSense. What's the secret? Why is it that some people are earning a pittance with AdSense and others are getting big bucks?

The Secret Revealed: There is no secret! Those lucky ones just have a sharp understanding of how AdSense really work. Let me explain. AdSense is worked by keywords. And these keywords have their corresponding money values. One keyword can have a value of 50 cents while another is valued at 50 dollars per click. And those keywords with high values are the ones that are mostly entered in Google. Examples of high-paying keywords can be: diet, health, cars, loans, etc... Now, to gain big bucks on AdSense, you have to have these high-paying keywords on your website. The more keywords you have, the bigger the bucks.

However, and this is a point you should consider. Let's say you have all those high-paying keywords on your website. But you wouldn't be able to make money unless someone clicks those ads. What you have to do here is to entice your viewers enough to get them to click those ads. You can do this by making sure that your site is filled with quality content, interesting, original and well written. Make sure your content is related to those high-paying keywords. For example. "Credit" is a high-paying AdSense keyword that can generate a lot of money. To get AdSense to work for you, you will need to post relevant content like credit card information that will generate enough interest in your readers to get them to click on those ads.

But getting content and articles for good AdSense keywords can also be a very time-consuming affair. You'll either have to write them yourself or you'll have to collect them from other resources.
