Affiliate Marketing is one of the best ways to make money online. However, like everything else you do, there is a learning curve and knowledge is powerful. Unfortunately you do not get anything for free, and perhaps the best part of that equation is that no one will apply themselves nearly as hard if they don't have their own hard earned cash in on the deal. Affiliate Marketing is a bit like MLM and some other aspects of marketing

Affiliate Marketing doesn't require you to buy a monthly product in order to make money. That is perhaps the number one killer of MLM, and the fact that most people who join MLM companies do not even like the products they are selling. Affiliate Marketing how-ever, does have other set backs. You are in competition with others, sometimes a lot more people than you would like to think. There are tools out there that will give you that kind of information.

So, what is the real skinny on being successful as an affiliate? One thing of paramount importance is how you write your ads. The headline must be catchier than the next guy you are competing with. To be quite honest with you, I have seen some ads from other marketers that equal the headlines of the National Enquirer. You do not want to insult your customers with hype that is easier to spot than the gray elephant.

If you are willing to work hard and you are willing to exert some time flexing your affiliate muscles you will be successful. Other determining factors are the size of your pocket book. Have you ever bought a tool or an e-book that the marketer wasn't up selling you with another e-book or a tool to you know, ah to be successful? Because I've used them I can tell you that Magazine Ads are expensive and a few years back started at around $3,500 for a half page color ad. Whew... your eyeballs pop out just thinking about it, no?

Affiliate Marketing and MLM share other things in common. With both you can use auto-responders, mail out post cards, Fax Blast and the list goes on.

One of the things you can do as an affiliate that you can not do with some products or services is make yourself known from one corner of the Internet globe to the next, and I mean that literally. A classified ad is only good for a few days and then it is gone. Unless you are saving your old magazines, how long do you think a half page ad at $3,500.00 is going to bring you results?

Back links are the affiliate marketers road to success if you own your own website, you can do this affectively with the right software, the one I use, submitting articles. What this affectively does is raise your rankings in the Search Engines. If every article you write is submitted to 1,000 directories you can see that the links will start coming in in no time. You write your article using the keyword you want to get ranked for and walla...

Provide visitors with enough information regarding your products that they feel comfortable making a purchase. If customers have any questions that are not answered on your website, they will not buy until they do have those answers or will simply forget about it and move on. Don't let this happen to you. Instead, make sure you provide information about all of your products. Give your visitors a good overview that answers all frequently asked questions, provide excellent photos, and allow the product to sell itself. If you provide enough information you will also save yourself a lot of time answering e-mails.
