How can Home Schooling Help My Child?

With so much debate and controversies on the pretext of home schooling on whether the child is benefitting from this type of education. Having said that, home schooling is legal in the US, with issues currently debating and some are thinking of banning this procedure if there are evidence that the children do not benefit from such an education.

What are the reasons that parents are turning away from traditional education to homeschooling?

For children suffering from mental or physical disabilities cannot attend normal school, their parents knowing this also are not willing to send to special-designated schools fearing that self esteem might be affected. Parents like the idea of having close supervision on what the child is studying first hand. Safety of the child is often one of the reason for parents taking up homeschooling. For most single parents whom works at home sometimes finds it convenient to take up the child's education as well.

When you see your child's achievements, you realized that your efforts in teaching have finally paid off. This is in fact one of the greatest benefit of home schooling. However, there are some benefits of that I will be discussing:

Some parents will lose some bonding with their children if they were to send away to school. The teaching and leaning experience with your child every day. You will directly praise or blame your kids due to the results they delivered.

It is worth the effort and trouble to get the benefits of home schooling, but not forgetting there are also some disadvantages to take note as well:

The child will not be able to social with other kids his or her age. He will be alone at home studying. This will have some mental impact on his growing up. Being too strict or too lenient is when parents are overdoing the educator's role. Also, some parents do not have the academic knowledge or the ability to teach.

For those parents already taken up home schooling for their kids, they will have to do their best and believe that they can get the benefits of home schooling finally. However, for those who are still considering, it is better to think of all perspectives before making the decision. Please do not have high hopes on the benefits of home schooling, for that you might get disappointed leaving you and your child with emotional stress.
