Within this number, there is a same amount of percentage of infertility issues affected both men and women, which is 40% respectively. 20% of the 6.1 million people are related to unknown causes to infertility.

According to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, there are some 6.1 million people troubled by infertility issues. Within this number, there is a same amount of percentage of infertility issues affected both men and women, which is 40% respectively. 20% of the 6.1 million people are related to unknown causes to infertility.

There are many causes of women infertility. Doctors from around the world are trying to find out how these specific causes are causing infertility. They are ovarian and ovulation problems, tube or peritoneal causes, hypothalamic-pituitary causes, cervical, vaginal and uterine problems and factors that are preventing women from conceiving.

Internal causes affecting infertility.

The normal ovaluation cycle for women is 28-days. However, this cycle may be disrupted by general factors such as diseases such as diabetes, thyroid or any defects of the liver and kidneys. Psychological or mental issues are also among the causes of infertility. Above causes may prevent women from having the normal ovulating cycle.

There are other causes affected the ovaries. Factors such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), ovarian neoplasm, diminished ovarian reserve, luteal dysfunction, premature menopauses, and Turner syndrome are among the common causes of infertility to women. These disorders actually prevents the release of a egg from the ovaries. Factors such as tube or peritoneal factors also can be a cause of infertility among women. Endometriosis growing outside may prevents an egg from traveling to the uterus.

Infertility factors such as Hypothalamic-pituitary, including the common hypopituitarism, hyperprolactinemia, kallmann syndrome and other hypothalamic dysfunctions are among the next causes of infertility among women.

There are many internal issues leading to an infertility to most women. Specifically, cervical, vaginal and uterine problems are the common cause of that. The structure of the uterus, uterine fibroids that are causing congenital anomalies (birth defects) and repeated miscarriages, or/and Asherman's syndrome is among the causes of infertility.

Sperms not able to travel to the tubes and vaginismus due to vaginal obstruction. This problem will cause infertility. Other than vaginal problems, there are cervical problems which include the side effects of anti-sperm antibodies, insufficient cervical mucus which is needed for the sperm to travel and survive.

What external causes are affecting the fertility of women?

After mentioning the internal causes of infertility, we shared discuss some external factors causing infertility. This include: the after effects of cosmetic usage, taking in alcohol, marijuana, having too much food additives such as monosodium glutamate (MSG), pesticides, coffee, cigarette or tobacco smoke, and many more.
