Envision holding a position that has no beginning or no ending hours. No predictability, and very little in the way of routine. A job that often is not very structured, and it's primary qualifications are readiness, flexibility, awareness, and stamina. For stay-at-home moms, this is their daily life.

Because job perks given here are very different than those handed out in the working world, some consider being stay-at-home moms not to be real professions. However, although there are no usual benefits, who can determine the value of a hug shared between a mother and child? Studies show that 8-11 hugs per day can astonishingly benefit one's physical and mental health. Yes, the demands are high, and require a level of selflessness that is not so much incorporated into the world outside the home. And though there is no hierchery of managers and vice presidents or presidents in this employment, there is a pecking order to the situation. The steadfast rule is the smallest human being rules the roost. And along with the tending to the child, multitudes of other responsibilities are handled as well.

To the outsider unfamiliar with the inner workings, being a stay-at-home mom appears easy. But the mom at home knows the reality is quite the opposite. The discomfort and exasperation that a corporate woman would feel spending her days at home tending to children and household duties is most likely the same discomfort and exasperation a stay-at-home mom would feel functioning in the outside world, away from her children. Each being accustommed to the perks and demands of their particular station in life, not many would decide with full knowledge of the situation, to change places in a moment's notice.

So here we are back to the main question. What is a realistic income for a stay at home mom? Lets see. When you are a stay at home mom there is no handing off a task to someone else to help you do or asking co workers what could be done to make it better. Instead, you are the main counsel. All decision get their final answer from you. There is no outside resources or getting permission from your supervisor or waiting for that important phone call from the major client. Instead all you do revolves around your children. What will they eat, what will they do today, who has practice or dance class, who has a doctors appointment or who has to go see the dentist.

Stay-at-home moms really provide services performed in a multitude of other professions outside the home. From housekeeper, to problem-solver, through cook, hairdresser, waitress, banker, accountant, handyman, the list of services provided are endless. And add on top of all these, the role of wife. In many ways, it's a hands-on learning experience. And each day brings it's own unique set of experiences from which to learn.

Our day as stay-at-home moms begins earlier than most jobs. The attire isn't as luxourious, nor as expensive, but it sure is comfortable for the duties needing to be tended to in the long hours ahead. And that is to say, the duties that actually get performed. Prioritizing is our number one ability. And while there is no timeclock to punch when we begin, there isn't any time to punch out either. Instead of sitting in traffic, we sit in waiting rooms at the doctor's office. Next thing we know, much of what was on the to-do list isn't done, but the hours of the day have evaporated somehow.

Sure there are ways to earn extra income while stay at home. But honestly who has time to sit and home and fill out those things everyday. We would be lucky if we got 5 minutes alone at night to take a shower or catch out breath. Click here and earn $5 dollar to $75 dollars. Register now and win $1,000. Do you really think if it were that easy wouldn't everyone be millionaires by now retiring and driving the latest car going on vacations and shopping sprees. If it were all what they were i would be retired sipping on mojitos with my feet up in my villas in the keys while 10 nannies waited on my kids. But we all know its not like that.

I would venture to say that approximately $15,000 per year would be fitting income for a stay-at-home mom, but of course this would vary depending on the number of children at one's feet daily. And though our personal demands do not include costly fancy coffee that we can barely pronounce, we do have a taste for something special for ourselves from time to time. A new bottle of perfume perhaps, or those slippers our feet have been screaming for...a manicure, or perhaps a new hairstyle. While no amount of money can replace the joy of growing up beside our children, some money couldn't hurt. After all, we're shaping the world's future leaders, from the crib onward. And for that, we deserve a little something extra ourselves. Anyone agree?
