Selecting a cellulite solution that works is a top concern for women everywhere and of every age. If you suffer from the dreaded orange peel look, one of the first things you should understand is that your condition is quite common. Of course at the beginning of every summer we're reminded of it again and the race is on to do something about it.
You might be thinking surgery is the answer to reducing cellulite, but this is simply not the case. There are alternatives available which don't have the risks or expense associated with invasive surgical procedures such as liposuction. While a lot of women do have liposuction to eliminate cellulite, there is no guarantee their cellulite won't come back after surgery. Sometimes liposuction doesn't work so well in the first place.
So what really works? Let's take a closer look at some alternative therapies to help get rid of cellulite without the inherent risk associated with surgeryl.
One treatment which many use is mesotherapy. This treatment was invented in the fifties by a French doctor named Dr. Pistor. In Europe it's a popular choice that involves injections of amino acids, minerals and vitamins into the areas where cellulite exists. Generally the injections are administered each week for several months to achieve good results.
Mesotherapy is effective for many, but it is a lengthy and expensive procedure. In addition, it can also be hard to find doctors who are qualified to perform the procedure. Since it is expensive and many are not so fond of needles, this tends to be considered after other methods have already been tried.
Body wraps are also a popular option. While they are not guaranteed to produce results, it is true that toxins in the body play a part in the formation of cellulite and this treatment is aimed at eliminating them.
Body wraps, at least in theory, are intended to force these toxins out of the body. The idea is that this will result in a better body shape and reduced water retention. A body wrap is supposed to stimulate the skin for a healthier appearance. While this is not guaranteed to work, it's certainly worth a try and can be worked into a relaxing day at the spa.
If you're among those who carry excess body fat or lack sufficient muscle tone, diet and exercise can provide amazing results. Even though it's not the option most people want to hear, it does work if you follow a regular program. Just by starting with everyday activities such as walking or biking and then adding in some strength training, you'll be pleasantly surprised at the progress you'll make.
Lifestyle modifications are not the easiest things to do, but they can make all the difference in how you look. By just making some minor changes like drinking more water, eating your fruits and vegetables and choosing to take the stairs, you can make great strides toward reducing cellulite. You'll also get some nice fringe benefits such as more energy, restful sleep and lower stress levels.
Do a little research before you pick a cellulite solution to try and keep in mind that the most expensive treatment is not always the best one.
