In days not long past, every bride received a tea kettle at her bridal shower. This item was a must for all women who were getting married whether they drank tea or not. Many a tea kettle had a whistle to let you know when the water had boiled.
New Technology and the Fall of the Tea Kettle
With the advent of new technology, new home appliances such as coffee makers and the microwave have practically made owning a tea kettle a thing of the past. You don’t need one anymore to boil water for oatmeal, instant coffee and of course, for brewing tea. You need only employ one of the many alternatives that are available instead of using an old tried and true tea brewing method.
Using a Kettle for Tea as Part of Your Kitchen Décor
If you are interested in one of these old kitchen mainstays, or know of someone who is happy having a conventional tea kettle, you will not be lacking in styles, colors and designs to choose from. There are vast arrays of tea kettle choices that can fit into any décor, whether rustic or stream-lined modern. They come in a variety of colors and shapes, and finding a kettle to brew tea that will fit into yours or someone else’s décor should be a snap.
You can find adorable tea kettles that are in the shape of animals, flowers or anything else you can think of that is fun and whimsical. There is lady bug tea kettle that is dotted with black spots on a red background; there are birds that are perched at the top of a kettle to tweet their song whenever the water boils.
Not having a tea kettle can impede you from making a host of yummy beverages and even hot cereals. I am not one who wants to make a huge mess when I make oatmeal, and having a kettle to boil water for that is a way to make the task much easier. A quick cup of tea or even a cup of coffee is easier to make when you own a tea kettle.
A tea kettle can also be a great present for someone when you are not sure what type of gift to buy. With all the styles and designs that are available today, searching for a tea kettle that will compliment your home and offer a personalized style statement can be a fun and easy task indeed.
