Because the resorts are so well equipped and are very competitive people from around the globe flock to them each winter in search of fun and an adrenaline rush. But these resorts are not only suitable for the more experienced skiers among us, but for those who are complete novices as well.
Because there are so many different ski resorts to select from in Colorado it may take some time finding one that is suitable for you as they all differ slightly in what amenities they provide and how easy they are to access. Also don't forget these resorts are not purely for skiing at there are plenty of other winter activities one can try during your stay. In fact Colorado has more than 20 different ski resorts for you to select from and below we look at a few of the more popular ones.
1. Aspen - This is situated in the county of Pitkin, Colorado and is situated very close to the town after which the resort is named. It lies between two mountain ranges, to the North is Aspen and to the South is Bell. Although it may be one of the smallest resorts for skiing in Colorado it has proven popular each year because the slopes are smooth and of a very high quality.
2. Snowmass - Situated not far from Aspen and is also considerably larger, it covers an around of around 3,000 acres. The slopes here are perfect for those who are just learning to ski as well as those who have far more experience and are looking for something of a challenge.
3. Copper Mountain - This resort is in fact made up of several others and is one of the largest of them all and situated in Summit County, Colorado. Certainly this is a resort whose name is recognized by skiers around the world and is famed for offering so much variety. Along with slopes designed to help get you on your way when first learning to ski this resort in Colorado is one that offers greater challenges to the more experienced skiers amongst us.
The locations that make up this resort include Beaver Creek where every year World Cup Alpine Skiing events take place, Vail which is the sister resort of Beaver Creek. Also you have Wolf Creek which is world renowned for the amount of snow that is produced on its slopes each year.
