If you'd like to escape from the hurried pace of the everyday and treat yourself to a little pampering, a trip to a spa bed and breakfast might be just the ticket. These inns and B&Bs offer a mix of great locations, idyllic accommodations and a variety of spa treatments.

Completing our spa odyssey from west to east, the Buttermilk Falls Inn & Spa in Milton, N.Y. is a renovated 1680 home and 70-acre estate on the banks of the Hudson River. Outside, the grounds have retained their historic charm with exquisite gardens, flowering terraces, and wildflower fields; there are even swans! Indoors, guests can enjoy their own whirlpool tub or curl up in front of their fireplaces.

In the spa, this B&B offers Swedish, Shiatsu, and Hot Stone massages; among others. In the Hot Stone treatment, hot river stones are used to bring relief to tense muscles and sore joints. The Buttermilk Falls Inn & Spa also offers facials, and back skin treatments, and has a geothermally heated, solar powered salt water mineral pool!

The Sanford House Inn & Spa in Arlington, Texas, affords close access to Dallas and a huge variety of attractions, but guests don't even need to leave the grounds to enjoy a blissful, relaxing vacation. The guest rooms and romantic cottages are filled with beautiful furnishings and romantic dcor. The cottages are a perfect romantic retreat, affording ultimate privacy as well as a fireplace and Jacuzzi tub. Pamper yourself further with a trip to the Spa and Salon. The spa offers massage therapy, facial therapy, body wraps, bronzing, and even Botinal, a treatment similar to Botox, but without the pain of needles.

Combine the romance and hospitality of a romantic inn with the unforgettable beauty of Alaska and the result is Pearson's Pond Bed and Breakfast and Adventure Spa. This spectacular Juneau, Alaska retreat wins award after award for its romantic ambiance, amenities and hospitality. Guest rooms include a fireplace and several also have a Jacuzzi tub. There are several hot tubs on the property, surrounded by woods and offering views of nearby Mendenhall Glacier. Massage away your cares and worries at the Cheshire Cat Inn & Spa in Santa Barbara, California. The whimsically-named inn includes two Queen Anne Victorian homes, as well as cottages and a coach house, each decorated in romantic style with antiques and Laura Ashley fabrics. The innkeepers at this award-winning getaway offer many massage options. For total relaxation, try The Cheshire Cat massage, which works on your neck, back, shoulders and scalp and includes aromatherapy with citrus, rosemary and ginger oils. Acupressure, deep tissue therapy and facials also are available.

Named for famed lawyer and politician, Daniel Webster, the Dan'l Webster Inn and Spa in Sandwich, Mass., offers the best of historic ambiance and relaxation. The 300-year-old inn features individually decorated guest rooms and suites, many with four-poster beds, fireplaces or whirlpool tubs. The inn's spa has a full range of services, from massages and manicures to body treatments and facials. There are several spa packages, including The Cranberry Cosmo which includes a back, neck and shoulder massage, cranberry manicure and a cosmopolitan cocktail.
