You've been planning your vacation for a year now and want it to be just perfect. You've decided on an Italy vacation, but probably don't know what to do first. Although a vacation of this magnitude should be well thought out, you don't want to ruin all the fun and excitement by being stressed. Many online sites offer all sorts of informative guides to an Italy vacation. If you're not one of the many internet-savvy people, you can go to your local travel agent and they'll be happy to give you brochures and information on what you can expect from an Italy vacation.

Italy Vacations Are Unique

Italy has so many different places for you to go and things to do and see. There is something so beautiful about the Italian culture and heritage that you'll enjoy yourself wherever you choose to go. You've probably read about the wonderful things that Italy has to offer. You do need to plan ahead, however. For instance, if you are going to be soaking up the sites, you need to decide what your mode of transportation is going to be. Details like airlines and lodging are usually taken care of when you book your flight to Italy, but transportation may not be included.

Transportation In Italy

Very few people drive to Italy or bring their vehicles with them, so you need to decide how you want to get around. You can choose to take a bus around the city or the train. Most vacationers choose the train because they travel all through Italy as well as surrounding areas. The price of trains is very affordable. If you choose to rent a car, you'll be able to do your own driving, but if you're not familiar with the area, this can become very confusing.

Another thing you may need to consider is the language. You will need to communicate with people while you're in Italy. While I'm sure there are many that speak the native language, you will encounter many that don't. A simple conversation such as you asking where the bathroom is can become a major problem if no one understands you at the moment. You may not have to rush out and sign up for a class in the Italian language, but if you can learn a few of the basics, it will make things easier.

When people travel a great distance such as to Italy, they spend a lot of time sightseeing, but you'll want to do more than just that. Italy has long been famous for their excellent cuisine, wine and music. Check into some of these things before you leave so you have some idea of where you want to go.

Bike Tours Are A Fun Option

Bike tours in Italy are very popular and a great way to spend a day or two. You can sign up for one or two-day tours. The tour company provided everything you need including a great bike (often a 21-speed), water bottle, helmets, meals and a guide that will take you to some of the best tourist sites. Bike tours are really something you'll want to check into while in Italy.
